Tied by thoughts

Be in harmony with the Way
and you will be free of disturbances.
Tied by your thoughts, you lose the truth,
become heavy, dull, and unwell.
Not well, the mind is troubled.
Then why cling to or reject anything?
If you wish to move in the One Way,
do not dislike even the world of senses and ideas.
Indeed, to accept them fully
is identical with true Enlightenment.

The ultimate state

Consider the movement in stillness and the stationary in motion,
both movement and rest disappear.
When such dualities cease to exist
even Oneness itself cannot exist.
This ultimate state
is not bound by rules and descriptions.
For the Realized mind, at one with the Way,
all doing ceases.
Doubts and irresolutions vanish
and the Truth is confirmed in you.

– Seng-ts’an in Hsin – Hsin Ming

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn’t come here of my own accord, and I can’t leave that way.
Whoever brought me here, will have to take me home.

The Will of God

God was the Truth in the beginning, and has been so in all the ages.

He is the Truth now, and shall forever be so.

Simply by contemplating on God, we cannot understand Him, even though we may think hundreds of thousands of times.

By keeping silent (Thinking), the mind does not receive satisfaction even though it thinks with constant absorption. (Men cannot silence the mind by remaining silent continuously. )

Hunger for God is not appeased – Knowledge of God is not obtained, though one may study the relevant literature of the world.

We may have a hundred thousand folds of wisdom, even this does not help us understand God. (At the time of death intellectual smartness also stays behind)

Then, how can we know the Truth (The True One), and how can we remove our doubts?

Nanak says, the answer is to stay in the Will of God

Again and again

Be quick to do good.
If you are slow,
The mind, delighting in mischief,
Will catch you.
Turn away from mischief.
Again and again, turn away .
Before sorrow befalls you.
Set your heart on doing good.
Do it over and over again,
And you will be filled with joy.
-Gautama Buddha

When with distracted mind and thirsty senses
He searches vainly for happiness
In the pleasures of the world.
Death fetches him away
As a flood carries off a sleeping village.
Death overcomes him.
-Gautama Buddha

In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.
You too shall pass away.
Knowing this, how can you quarrel?
-Gautama Buddha
